About Our Fabrics

100% Merino Wool

Wool is among the most sustainable fabrics in the world. Not only is it comfortable to wear, it is also eco-friendly. It will naturally biodegrade into the earth when it's lifetime is over, instead of filling up our landfills for years like polyester.

We have both machine washable and handwash only wool fabrics (a.k.a. superwash and non-superwash). The majority of the fabrics we carry are superwash, as it is more economical. However, we recognize that there are concerns about the toxicity of the superwsh process and are committed to providing non-superwash options as well. We will always be looking for ways to provide high quality fabrics at more affordable prices. Non-superwash wool fabrics will be marked with an asterisck (*) on our listings.

Most of our machine-washable wool is sourced from designer dead stock, ensuring great quality and longevity. These soft fibers are from sheep raised in New Zealand.

We carry numerous different weights of wool fabrics.

Extra Lightweight Wool Jersey: 150 GSM

This jersey is very thin. Some lighter colors may be somewhat opaque. It is perfect for baselayers and summer tops.

Lightweight Wool Jersey: 195 GSM

This jersey is great for all-season tops. It also works well for pajamas and slightly heavier baselayers.

Midweight Wool Rib Knit: 225 GSM

This fabric is a rib knit very similar to interlock fabric. It is a great option for pants or bottoms of any kind as it offers a bit more durability then jersey. It also works well for winter tops.

100% Boiled Wool

Boiled wool is just what it sounds like- wool fabric that has been Boiled! This softly felts the fabric making it more durable, warm, and soft. It also makes a great waterproof outer layer when lanolized, while still allowing your body to breathe.

While it is a soft fabric, most people still find it too scratchy to wear against the skin. It is best worn over other layers to keep you warm and dry.

All of our Boiled wool is Oeko-Tex certified and Non- superwash (handwash only). The neat thing about wool is that it doesn't need to be washed very often due to the small scales on the fibers. When these scales rub together, they clean each other, knocking off dirt.

100% Linen Fabric

Linen is among the most sustainable fabrics on the planet. It is created from the fibers of the flax plant, which takes less water to be grown then cotton. Because it is a plant fiber, it naturally biodegrades when it's lifetime is over.

Linen is known for it's temperature regulating properties. Not only will it keep you cool in the summer, but also warm in the winter.

Unlike many things in life, linen gets better with age. It can tend to be a bit stiff and wrinkly at first, but as it is washed and worn, it softens and drapes better. Linen is known for its durability and will outlast many other fibers.

Our linen fabric is sourced from numerous places as we are still finding our favorite suppliers. All of them are a midweight fabric for year round comfort.
